History

Central Park is a man made park that required many years of planning to make room for itès 270,000 trees. It remains one of the most important accomplishment of the 19th century. The architect Frédéric Law Olmsted is responsible for this beautiful oasis that New Yorkers cherish. 

It all started n 1857 and it wasn't until 1873 that the park was opened to skaters, joggers, and sight seekers.

What to do in the park?

The park is divided into four section: North End, The Resevoir, Great Lawn et South End. Central Park is the place for outdoor activities: Ice skating, rollerbladding, jogging, walking, baseball, soccer, football, free concerts and picnics.
